7.15 Doors open – drinks and nibbles served
7.30 Illustrated talk by Tim Richardson, based on his new book, entitled THE NEW ENGLISH GARDEN – Changing planting styles in the UK over the past 20 years and into the future. Tim is a gardening journalist and was instrumental in setting up the Chelsea Fringe, and his talk should be a fascinating overview of gardening trends and future developments. The book has beautiful photos by Andrew Lawson, and copies will be on sale at the meeting.
8.30 Review of the Year from the Chair of Islington Gardeners, and the Treasurer’s Report.
8.45 A selection of photos and announcement of the winners of this year’s Islington In Bloom awards.
There will be plants for sale, an opportunity to
join Islington Gardeners and get 3 months extra
membership, and a chance to socialize with other
members of the gardening group.
Medals for Islington
Islington has won a Gold medal for the second year in a row at the London in Bloom awards. It was for the City category, which is an area of between 100,000 – 2,000,000 residents.
We also won Borough of the Year for the second year running – a fantastic achievement.
