We have kindly been offered the opportunity for a guided garden tour of the Museum of The Home gardens. The tour will be led by head gardener Bryn Hutchinson (Instagram: @gardenwithbryn)

10.45am Arrival

11am Tour start time

12.30 Tour ends. Time to explore the museum and have lunch in the lunch room.

2pm Short walk to St Mary's Secret Garden (four-minute walk, open until 4pm)

Followed by a optional detour to Dalston Curve Garden (two stops on the overground). DCG is another small garden in the area. Refreshments are available for purchase.

Train: The nearest overground station is Hoxton; The nearest underground station is Old Street (Northern Line)
Bus: The 149, 242, 243 and 394 stop outside the museum (Stop KN: Museum of the Home / Hoxton)

Save the date for this informal garden visit by public transport on one of the annual Garden Open Days for 2026. We are planning on visiting the gardens on Sunday 11th October as entry to the gardens is free on that day.

It may be of inrerest to know that there are a number of days to choose from throughout the Autumn / Winter season. All of the info about the open days and the gardens is on the Historic Royal Palaces website.

Garden open days

Palace gardens will be open free of charge on the following dates throughout the year, with no tickets or pre-booking required.  Entrance to the Palace, the Maze and the Magic Garden will still require a ticket.

• 26 December (The Wilderness garden only)
